Men’s Lacrosse trio Joey Spallina, Carter Rice, and Billy Dwan II were crowned with more preseason honors upon being named to the USILA D1 Preseason All-America teams (READ MORE).

Following a career night from Sophie Burrows, the Orange halt Virginia Tech on the road, 93-87, to claim its 800^th program victory (READ MORE).

🏀 STARTING FIVE

Men’s Hoops (10-13) welcomes Boston College (10-12) in a weekend showdown before jetting to battle a 5-17 Miami team in Coral Gables:

• On Monday, Donald Hand Jr. was tabbed ACC Player of the Week for the second time this season, becoming the first Boston College player to garner weekly conference honors twice in eight years

• This accolade comes after the guard’s career-high 31 points and nine rebounds in an epic 77-76 comeback victory over Florida State

• Boston College marked its second double-digit comeback win in ACC action against the Seminoles after trailing by as many as 15 points, holding FSU without a FG for nearly the next 10 minutes

• The Miami Hurricanes earned its first ACC win against Notre Dame, 63-57, to open February play

• In the contest, senior Matthew Cleveland secured his fifth straight 20-point game with a team-leading 21 points

• The team scored 15 of the final 19 points and displayed superb defensive efforts after holding Notre Dame scoreless in the final three minutes

Women’s Basketball (9-13) takes on Wake Forest (8-14) at home and later aims to down Stanford (11-11) on the road next Thursday:

• In a near win against NC State, sophomore guard Rylie Theuerkauf poured a career-high 25 points on 10-of-15 shooting while senior guard Raegyn Conley also recorded a career-high with 21 points on 7-of-11 shooting

• Wake Forest's success this season is piloted by its strong defensive play

• As of today, the team ranks in the top 150 in the country and fifth in the ACC in scoring defense as teams are averaging just 63.1 points per game this season

• The Demon Deacons also rank top 75 in the nation in steals with 9.6 per game

• In a battle versus a now 20-4 overall Tar Heel team, Stanford saw a near comeback; however, Nunu Agara’s 22 points and 14 rebounds were not enough as the Cardinal fell 69-67

• Down by 15 in the second half, the 2021 National Champions’ near come back was due to impressive efforts at the free throw line, shooting 18-of-19

• Eighth in the league in scoring and rebounding, Agara is one of three underclassmen in the nation averaging 17/8/2

• She has posted double figures in 20 of 21 games for the 2024-25 season including five 20-point efforts and is one of three ACC players in the NCAA’s top 10 in both scoring and rebounding
