🔴 SCOUTING THE OPPONENT: STANFORD CARDINAL

Take a look at some quick pointers for Stanford ahead of its matchup in Orange territory:

  • Friday makes a historic night for Stanford as it plays its first ACC game against the Orange

  • The team currently holds a 72-57-10 record against ACC opponents

  • The Cardinal is coming off its first home win in the Troy Taylor downing Cal Poly 41-7 earlier in the month

  • In previous years, Stanford has earned 15 conference championships compared to Syracuse’s five

  • On Sept. 7, punter Tiger Bachmeier took a 90-yard return to the end zone for the first Stanford punt return since Christian McCaffrey in the 2016 Rose Bowl Game vs. Iowa

  • The return is also tied for the second-longest punt return in Cardinal history, trailing behind Thomas Henley's 92-yard punt return vs. Oregon in 1986
