In back-to-back seasons, the Orange are bowl-bound following the win over Wake Forest. Safety Jason Simmons Jr. secured the victory with a goal-line interception for win No. 6. Now, it’s time to start thinking about post-season play and how the Orange have fared in recent bowl games.

The Atlantic Coast Conference has a few bowl game tie-ins that are reserved for members of the (you guessed it) ACC whenever they reach eligibility. Below are a couple of destinations to keep in mind and last year’s matchup in parenthesis.

  • Military Bowl (Duke def. UCF)

  • Gasparilla Bowl (Wake Forest def. Missouri)

  • Birmingham Bowl (East Carolina def. Coastal Carolina)*

  • Independence Bowl (Houston def. Louisiana)*

  • Pinstripe Bowl (Minnesota def. ‘Cuse) — more on this later

  • Fenway Bowl (Louisville def. Cincinnati)

  • First Responder Bowl (Memphis def. Utah State)*

    * Multiple tie-in options with the ACC being one of them

This is the second straight season Syracuse will be going bowling and, as such, we thought it would be appropriate to recap the past five bowls the Orange have played in.

As you can see, the Orange have won four of the last five bowl games with three appearances in the Pinstripe Bowl down in the Bronx. ‘Cuse has played West Virginia and Minnesota twice in that span during post-season play.
